When you learn to paint, it is great to stand at the edge of a river or on the beach and to paint the water, but water can be tricky. Water has no colour – fill up a glass of water and hold it to the light. So what gives it colour? It is the colour around the water that gives it colour….the sky, the trees, the boats etc. Learn to look at reflections and then paint them.
