Watercolour Papers - there are so many, which is right?

Watercolour Papers - there are so many, which is right?

Level: Beginners
Instructor: Dee Cowell
Price:  £2.50

When you learn to paint in watercolours once of the confusing things is the range of papers available. Watercolour papers are made from wood pulp, but some papers are made from cotton fibres as well. Hand made papers are good fun to try out – you may need to stretch them to prevent cockling.

Langton has both internal and external sizing. The internal sizing ensures that the paper does not act like blotting paper and soak the paint up too quickly. The external sizing ensures that the surface does not become disrupted by dry brush work or an eraser for example.
